DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- Officials say nomination forms are available to honor those who played major roles in Iowa's 2008 disaster recovery efforts.
It's called the Rebuild Iowa Award for Service. The deadline for nominations is June 11.
The idea is to recognize those who have been involved with rebuilding and pitching in on recovery efforts since floods and tornadoes in 2008.
Individuals, local groups and community leaders can submit forms. Government employees won't be eligible to win.
Nominees will be considered for the award based on their volunteer hours, community impact and creativity, among other things.
