Ellis Pool to reopen June 5th after flood damage


CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) --  The Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation Department is pleased to announce that the flood-affected Ellis Pool has been restored. A Grand Re-opening Ceremony is set for Saturday, June 5 at 11:30 a.m. The event will include a free swim in the afternoon from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. As a result no lap swim will be held at Ellis on Saturday.

The pool will also be open Sunday, June 6 with lap swimming from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. and open swimming from 1:00-6:00 p.m.

All other Cedar Rapids pools will open for pre-season swimming Saturday, June 5 and Sunday, June 6. Regular summer season swimming begins Friday, June 11 at 11:45 a.m. for lap swimming and at 1:00 p.m. for open swimming.
