Lost Island shows off new water attraction

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- The Lost Island Waterpark opens to the public on Friday, but we got a sneek peak of its newest attraction.

Ribbon cutting took place Wednesday afternoon for the Wailua Kapua.

The new 990-foot long hydromagnetic water-coaster propels riders up and down huge hills. It's one of only two in the country.

Tyler Rice of Waterloo won the very first ride for naming the attraction.

"It shot you straight up and down, just like a rollercoaster. They weren't kidding when they built this thing," Rice said.

Lost Island is celebrating it's tenth anniversary in Waterloo. The park is now home to 14 major waterslides.
