Want healthy food? Don't eat what you see on TV!

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- When it comes to creating a healthy menu -- a new study suggests you should turn the TV off.

Researchers in Georgia analyzed 84 hours of prime-time and Saturday morning programming for the four major television networks.

They found that if you base a typical two-thousand calorie diet entirely of food advertised in TV commercials, you'd consume more than 20 times the recommended servings of sugar and fat.

And you'd get less than half of what you need of fruit, dairy and vegetables.
