Georgia woman charged with OWI, Child Endangerment in Iowa

JOHNSON COUNTY (KWWL) -- A Georgia woman is facing numerous charges after police say they caught her driving drunk with her kids in the car.

Officers spotted a car that was the subject of an attempt to locate order in the area of Quincy Road and Jordan Creek Road at around 2:19 Monday morning.

The officer followed the car and says he saw it almost go into the ditch in front of 2585 Quincy Road and then pulled the car over.

When the officer was talking to the driver, Robyn M. Schlatter, 26, of Moultrie, Georgia, he noticed she had blood shot eyes and the car smelled of alcohol.

Police records show that Schlatter blew a .178 on the preliminary breath test.

The officer also noticed that Schlatter had her two kids, ages 1 and 2, in the car.

Schlatter is charged with Operating While Intoxicated and Child Endangerment.

She is also facing two counts of Interference with Official Acts for refusing to get in the deputy's car and for refusing to go into the University of Iowa Police Department for further testing.
