New readiness center in southeast Iowa

MIDDLETON (KWWL)-- On Tuesday, the Iowa National guard will break ground on a new readiness center in southeast Iowa.

The $16 million readiness center and $6 million maintenance shop, is being built in Middleton, just west of Burlington.

The 831st Engineer Company and army reserve's 389th Engineer Company will be stationed at the new facility.

Federal funds are paying for the center, which is set to open next fall.
