Eagle Scout project creates Tripoli Veterans Memorial

by Danielle Wagner

TRIPOLI (KWWL) Tripoli has a new Veterans Memorial thanks to an Eagle Scout project by Tanner Klein.

Klein raised $50,000 for this special tribute to Tripoli veterans.

The memorial includes statues, flag poles, landscaping and a brick walkway with names of veterans and people who donated money to the project.

Tanner Klein worked on the project for about a year. He said he wanted something he could show to his grandchildren someday.

"I'm very proud of my work mainly because I know the people in the community enjoy it and I've had a lot of compliments on it and the veterans appreciating it, that tells me it was a success," said Klein.

The new memorial is part of a special ceremony Monday. During the ceremony, Tanner Klein will formally give the memorial over to the city.
