VGM Hosts 9th Heartland Conference in June


Waterloo's VGM Group, Inc. is gearing up for its 9th annual Heartland Conference in Waterloo, June 7, 8, 9 and 10. The annual Heartland Conference is expected to bring more than one thousand visitors to the Cedar Valley for the four-day event.

The Learning Channel's Bill Klein will deliver the keynote address at the June 8 opening session, Klein is the Co-founder and CEO of Emerge Sales, Inc. He is perhaps best known as co-star of The Learning Channel's ‘The Little Couple.'

Klein, who stands less than four-feet, will talk about his personal story of triumph as a ‘little person' in the world. Klein is married to Houston Neonatologist, Dr. Jen Arnold, who also stands less than four feet tall.

The annual Heartland Conference is a members-only event, which will bring in hundreds of home medical equipment providers, manufacturers and industry experts from all across the United States.

The annual conference provides an economic bonanza for Waterloo and the Cedar Valley. Conference-goers will fill Cedar Valley hotel rooms four nights and give the Cedar Valley nearly $ 800,000 in direct spending.

Aaron Buzza, Executive Director of the Waterloo Convention and Visitors Bureau, says, "The Heartland Conference provides a great showcase for Waterloo and brings returning friends each June.
