Flight delay forces Senate candidate to miss forum

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- Mechanical problems are to blame for US Senate candidate Bob Krause missing a Democratic forum in Cedar Rapids.

Krause was set to debate fellow Democrats Roxanne Conlin and Thomas Fiegen at Kirkwood Community College at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, but mechanical problems forced his flight to be delayed.

Krause said, "I greatly regret not being able to be there, but there is not much that can be done because there was no other flight available that would get me to Cedar Rapids. I look forward to informing Iowa citizens of my positions at other events."

Conlin, Fiegen and Krause are vying for the right to face Republican Senator Charles Grassley in the November General Election.
