DES MOINES (AP) -- A maintenance man who called 911 from the hotel where Slipknot bassist Paul Gray was found dead says he found a syringe and pills in the room.

The 38-year old Gray was found dead Monday at TownePlace Suites in Urbandale. The 911 call at 10:46 a.m. was made by Mike Kellow, who says on the recorded call that he checked on Gray after his mother called because she couldn't reach him.

Kellow found Gray's body in a corner near a wall. He says there was a hypodermic needle next to the bed and "all kinds of pills everywhere."

An autopsy was inconclusive about the cause of death, but police said there was no evidence of foul play or trauma. Police are waiting the results of toxicology tests.
