Hillcrest launches Faith Center in Dubuque

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -- As the saying goes, if God closes a door, he opens a window. Tuesday, Hillcrest Family Services kicked off a fundraising event for their expansion plans. Those include a chapel and recreation facility at its Dubuque location. A taped off area showed the site of the future building, which will bring something new to Hillcrest.

"We've very committed to helping everybody form a spiritual connection in their lives. And that's a special thing that you get when people receive services at Hillcrest," Hillcrest President Gary Gansemers said.

The new building will get the stained glass windows from Trinity Church in Cedar Rapids. That church was lost to the flood. Hillcrest has raised $1.1 million of the $2 million dollars it needs to break ground.
