UPDATE: Cedar Rapids "splash pads" open

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- People in Cedar Rapids have another way to beat the heat.

The city wasn't going to turn on the "splash pads" until Tuesday morning, but opened six of the seven on Monday due to quick work by the public works staff.

The six that opened Monday are at Cleveland Park, Daniels Park, Hidder Park, Jacolyn Park, Redmond Park and Time Check Park.

The one at Noelridge Park will open on Tuesday according to Michelle Bostwick.

Water is turned on every morning at 10:00 and turned off at 8:00 p.m.

The "splash pads" will be open through Sunday, September 12th.

Bever Pool opens Saturday, May 29th, while all the other city owned, outdoor pools don't open until June 5th.
