Falls Aquatic Center turns four years old

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -- The Falls Aquatic Center made a big splash May 21, 2006.

An open house and ribbon cutting was held for the $6.2 million pool facility that day.  The Falls replaced Ray Edwards Pool and Activity Park, which was becoming out of date.

The new aquatic center featured several slides, diving boards, and a lazy river.

The three pool areas are handicap accessible and have numerous lockers for people to keep their valuables.

It was the second major waterpark in the Waterloo Cedar Falls area, but managers said they have different themes, and should not compete with one another.

Parents said they were impressed with the new park and are looking forward to bringing their children here this summer.

The 2010 season begins May 29th at The Falls Aquatic Center.
