IOWA CITY (KWWL) – University of Iowa softball senior Lindsey Digmann has been named to the Louisville Slugger/ National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) second team all-Midwest Region squad.  The announcement was made Thursday by the NFCA, and is Digmann's first all-region honor.

Digmann was selected as a utility player after making numerous starts all over the diamond.  The Marion, IA, native collected 24 starts at third base, 14 at second base, two in left field, two in center field and one as the designated player.

Digmann led the Hawkeyes this season with a .357 batting average and 17 stolen bases in 19 attempts.  She was second on the team with 50 hits and 25 runs scored.  Digmann also recorded three doubles, one triple and nine RBI.

This is the second award in as many days for Digmann, as she was named third team all-Big Ten Wednesday.

The Hawkeyes finished the 2010 season 25-23 overall and 10-9 in the conference, 5th in the Big Ten.
