Man loses hand in farm accident

FREMONT COUNTY (KWWL) -- A Fremont county man has lost his hand in a farm accident.

The sheriff's office says 49-year-old Michael Landon was working with a manure spreader on a farm near tabor when it got jammed.

They say Landon reached in to clear the debris and his jacket got caught in the drive shaft.

He was taken by helicopter to the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, where they were forced to amputate his hand.
