Warner to be Honored by Barnstormers

Earlier this year former UNI and Cedar Rapids football legend Kurt Warner decided to walk away from the game forever.

This week Warner is returning to Iowa be honored by the organization that gave him his first professional opportunity 15 years ago.

The Iowa Barnstormers are going to retire Kurt Warner's number 13 on Friday night during the Barnstormers' game against Arizona.

Warner played three seasons in des moines throwing 183 touchdowns--and leading the Stormers to back to back Arena Bowl appearances. Warner's success in the Arena Football League catapaulted him to an outstanding career in the NFL.

 

 

Warner will be back in Des Moines Friday to receive the honor and also broadcast the game for the NFL Network.
