ANKENY (KWWL) - An Iowa mother remains in critical condition after a three-car crash that killed two of her children and left a third injured.

Mercy Medical Center spokesman Gregg Lagan says 35-year-old Heather DeJoode's condition hadn't changed Sunday afternoon.

DeJoode's 5-month-old daughter Claire and 5-year-old son Carson died Friday. Her 3-year-old son Chase was in fair condition.

Authorities say the family's car was struck by a pickup that blew through a stop sign Thursday in Ankeny, then hit a second car.

The truck driver, 46-year-old Kevin Dalasta of Norwalk, was in stable condition.
