Fifth Breitbach son graduating from University of Dubuque

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -- The Breitbach family of Balltown will watch their fifth son graduate from the University of Dubuque on Saturday.

Michael Breitbach will graduate with a bachelor of science in biology degree.

Michael's brothers, Anthony, Benjamin, Matthew and Peter all graduated from the University of Dubuque between 2003 and 2007.

University of Dubuque President, Jeffrey F. Bullock, says, "Breitbach's of Balltown and the University of Dubuque were founded in the same year - 1852 - and we are honored to have shared 158 years of service to the State of Iowa and the tri-state region.  We are also honored and humbled by the Breitbach family's investment, support, and confidence in the University by enrolling five sons on our campus."

Michael's parents, Cindy and Michael, are the current owners of Breitbach's Country Dining in Balltown.

They have had to rebuild the historic restaurant twice following fires on Christmas Eve of 2007 and October 24, 2008.

Degrees will be given to 301 undergraduate and 52 graduate students on Saturday.

The ceremony begins at 1:00 p.m. in the Chlapaty Recreation and Wellness Center.
