NEW DETAILS: Marion Police use H.E.A.T. to enter house

MARION (KWWL) -- Marion Police were called to 10th Street and 4th Avenue just before noon on Wednesday for a report of a fight.

Once on scene, Peter Clute, 19, of Mt. Vernon, told police that he was threatened by Jamuel Gray, 20, of Rock Island, Illinois.

He also told police that Gay had a gun.

The Marion Police High-Risk Entry and Arrest Team, H.E.A.T., then served a search warrant at 1020 4th Avenue, Apt. 3.

Once inside, officers set off a flash bang as a distraction.

Gay was not found inside and police continue to search for him.

Clute and Dakota Jordan, 19, of Mt. Vernon, were ticketed for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and then released.

Police had 4th Avenue blocked off between 10th and 11th Streets while conducting the investigation.

Vernon Middle School, which sits a few blocks away, confirms that they had all the students "locked-in" as a precaution while police made their search.
