22-year old Swisher man charged for assaulting 70-year old


SWISHER (KWWL) -- A 22-year old Swisher man is facing a charge of Willful Injury - Causing Bodily Injury after he admitted to law enforcement that he beat up a 70-year old because he didn't like the way he was driving.

According to the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, a 70-year old man and his wife were driving on Greencastle Road back on March 27th, when Brandon Poulson, 22, came up behind them and started cussing and yelling at them.

According to court records, Poulson yelled that he was, "driving like an old man."

When the victim pulled over to let Poulson pass, Poulson stopped and got out of his truck.

When the victim got out of his car, he was immediately hit in the head and face several time by Poulson.

The victim received a cut on the top of his head, a cut above his left eye and swelling and bruising to both eyes and ears.

It took several staples to close the cut on his head and several stitches to close the cut above his eye.

The sheriff's office says that after he was read his Miranda rights, Poulson admitted to hitting the man several times in the face because he was upset with the way he was driving.
