Dubuque City Council May 3rd meeting

DUBUQUE (KWWL) - The May 3rd Dubuque City Council meeting will address several issues and recognize several indicatives in Dubuque.

The council plans to recognize Bike to Work Week, set for May 17-21, Preservation Month (May), National Train Day (May 8th), Nursing Home Week (May 9-15), Public Service Employee Recognition Week (May 3-7), AmeriCorps Week (May 8-15) and Compass to Care Day (July 9th).

The council will also discuss the 2010-2011 Urban Deer Management Program.  Mystique Casino will request a fireworks display on June 5th, 2010 in celebration of 26 years of live racing at Dubuque Greyhound Park. The group will also look to accept the Hempstead safety improvements and authorize contracts for the next phase.

Regarding the Bee Branch Project, the City Manager will recommend approval to establish the fair market value of several properties in the area and authorize to begin meliorations to acquire the property for the Bee Branch Project.
