Dubuque Red Cross volunteer heads south

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -- A member of the Disaster Action Team from the American Red Cross of the Tri-States has been deployed to Nashville ,Tennessee.  It's all in response to the floods.  Shawn Scott Fitzgerald will be managing and distributing relief supplies.  It's his eighth time assisting with a national disaster.

Severe weather caused heavy winds and flooding throughout the state of Tennessee this weekend.  The flooding has caused officials to close roads, leaving thousands of people without power. Those conditions have prompted the evacuation of over a thousand residents within the affected area. Currently the Red Cross of the Tri-States have 3 people deployed, 2 to Jackson Mississippi, and Shawn to Tennessee.
