Three teens charged with stealing scrap metal

ARLINGTON (KWWL) -- Three Fayette County teens face theft charges following an investigation into stolen scrap metal.

They Fayette County Sheriff's Office says they were contacted by an Arlington farmer on April 12th saying he was missing a large amount of scrap metal from one of his farms.

The sheriff's office found that Aaron Parker Chapman, 18, of Greeley, was renting the property and had Brian Wendell Bass, 18, and Benjamin Lee Ingles, 18, both of Oelwein, take several loads of the scrap metal to the Clayton County Recycling Center in Luana.

Bass and Ingles face 2nd degree Theft charges for stealing scrap metal worth between $1,000 and $10,000.

Chapman is charged with Aiding and Abetting to a Theft.
