Iowan stabbed during early morning jog in Chicago


CHICAGO, IOWA (KWWL)-- Police say an Iowa jogger was robbed and stabbed four times in Chicago along the Chicago Riverwalk.

Authorities say he was in critical condition following the stabbing around 5:50 Saturday  morning, but his condition has been updated to stable condition.

A Chicago NBC affiliate reports the victim was stabbed in the chest with a knife. The man is visiting from Iowa and his wallet was recovered by another citizen in the area, although it is unknown what exactly was taken, police said.

The man was staying at the Hyatt Regency Chicago and was jogging along the lower level Riverwalk. Police learned of the attack when someone called 911.
No one is in custody.

Chicago police are not releasing the man's name, or where he is from in Iowa.
