Grayer joins ISU basketball staff

AMES (KWWL) -- Iowa State's all-time leading scorer is now the school's newest assistant basketball coach.  Former Cyclone Jeff Grayer accepted an offer Thursday to join the Cyclones staff.

Grayer's coaching experience is limited.  He briefly coached Flint, Michigan's CBA team in the team's inaugural season in 2000.

His playing experience, however, has been heavily documented.  Grayer holds 13 Iowa State records, including his 2,502 career points.

He now hopes to help revitalize a Cyclone program that finished 11th in the Big 12 in the 2009-2010 season.
