Iowa City narrows superintendent search

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -- The Iowa City Community School District will select a final candidate for superintendent at a special board meeting on Sunday.

The school board interviewed three candidates this week, which also included a public forum. The three candidates are Dr. Mark Bezek from Elk River, Minnesota; Brad Meeks from Farmington, Minnesota; and Steve Murley from Wasau, Wisconsin.

On Sunday the board will narrow the search to a final candidate.

Current Superintendent Lane Plugge will leave the district in June to accept a job in Council Bluffs. Plugge has been the superintendent for ten years.
