Green Bay Beats Waterloo 5-1 Takes 2-0 lead

The Waterloo Black Hawks return to Young Arena down two-games-to-none in their best-of-five playoff series against the Green Bay Gamblers after a fight-filled 5-1 loss in Game Two Friday.

The match-up included a fight in each period as both teams displayed their rough-and-tumble style. Andrew Panzarella squared off with Grant Arnold early. Jimmy Siers and Anders Lee dropped the gloves in the middle frame.

Jon Puskar and Sean Little squared off in the nightcap.

Nick Jensen put Green Bay ahead in the first with a power play goal at 4:36. Just 38 seconds later, Nick Ebert was slashed across the forearms on a breakaway, and tied the score with a backhander on the resulting penalty shot. However, the Gamblers pulled ahead for good with 42.1 seconds remaining in the period when Scott Czarnowczan lifted a shot into the net.

The Gamblers added two in the second from David Gerths and William Kessel and one in the third by Anders Lee.

Game Three is at Young Arena Saturday, beginning at 7:05. If the Hawks win, it would force a fourth game, also in Waterloo, on Monday.
