Panthers Look to Plug Holes During Spring Football

They don't really think of it as rebuilding at Northern Iowa-- but the Panthers have a lot of holes to fill from a 2009 squad that showed championship potential never fulfilled.

The Panthers opened spring practice this week-- hoping to get a jump on rebuilding an offense with a new starting quarterback in junior Zach Davis-- and an offensive line that returns no starters from a season ago--






Build a team right now, and when i say that, it's building segments, and then you go to the units, which is the offense and defense. Then you try to pull it all together in the end, but right now they have to develop individually as much as a unit.

UNI is allowed 15 practices in the spring-- which will conclude with the spring game-- four weeks from today--



Head coach Mark Farley knows the challenge ahead-- but said this part of the year is especially good for one thing--
