WATERLOO (KWWL) - The Iowa National Guard will host a rededication ceremony at 10 a.m. on Monday commemorating the completion of renovations and additions to the Waterloo National Guard Army Aviation Support Facility and Aviation Readiness Center.

Brig. Gen. Janet Phipps, Assistant Adjutant General, Iowa Army National Guard, and representatives from federal, state, and local governments will participate in the ceremony. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend the rededication ceremony.

Renovations and additions were completed recently on two existing structures: the Waterloo Army Aviation Support Facility, and the Waterloo Aviation Readiness Center.

Existing allied shops work spaces were completely renovated, and new interior finishes, doors, and windows were installed. A new parking area was also constructed.

The Aviation Readiness center originally comprised of 12,000 square feet was also renovated, and a new addition of approximately 9,300 square feet was constructed, for a total project cost of approximately $2.6M. The addition includes new office, classroom, and supply area space, plus expanded restroom facilities. Electrical, heating, and cooling systems were renovated, and new finishes installed for walls, flooring, ceilings, doors, and windows.
