Staying safe in warm weather

CORALVILLE (KWWL)-- The warmer weather is a chance for people to spend more time outdoors.

The increase in people outside, can heighten the chance of accidents occurring.

Tuesday night, police reported two unrelated accidents in Johnson County.  One, involving a 12 year old boy struck by a car while crossing the street, and the other involving two adults on a bicycle hit by a driver pulling into his own driveway.

A third accident was avoided in Coralville, when a woman rescued an unsupervised toddler who was laying face-down in a pond.

Coming up tonight on the KWWL News Live at 5, we'll hear more about this woman's proactive efforts, and police will tell us how to stay safe outdoors.
