The pain of fibromyalgia can make working out at a gym like this difficult -- however researchers say short bursts of physical activity may help.
The study from Johns Hopkins was relatively small -- including 84 fibromyalgia patients.
Instead of exercising on treadmills... They were instructed to get their exercise through everyday activities, like gardening and using the stairs rather than the elevator.
At the end of the study, participants were able to increase the number of steps taken every day, and had reductions in pain.
