WATERLOO (KWWL) -- Waterloo Police are looking for a man they say led officers on a chase into Benton County, was caught, but then walked out of Covenant Medical Center.

Officers tried to pull over Timothy McClain, 36, of Waterloo, for a burned out taillight in the area of La Porte Road and Washington Street.

Instead of pulling over, McClain sped away leading officers on a chase into Benton County where he eventually lost control.

McClain then tried to runaway from police, but was caught in a nearby corn field.

Captain Tim Pillack says McClain was then taken to Covenant Medical Center for 24-hour observation.

Pillack says they received a call from Covenant on Wednesday morning saying that McClain had left their facility even though he was not released.

McClain is wanted on $35,000 worth of warrants for the incident.  The warrants include Possession of Methamphetamine, Driving While License Suspended, Driving While License Revoked, Eluding and OWI 1st Offense.

If you have seen Timothy McClain or know his whereabouts, you are asked to contact Waterloo Police.
