Flood delays search for vehicle in river

PALO (KWWL) -- The flood waters of the Cedar River in Linn County will delay the search for a vehicle in the river.

The Linn County Sheriff says there's nothing searchers can do right now.

The Cedar River is expected to remain above flood stage for the next couple days.

On Sunday a driver reported seeing a car sinking in the river near the Blairs Ferry Road bridge east of Palo.

Emergency crews searched the area, but the search was called off after a couple hours because they found nothing.

Authorities are trying to determine if the incident is connected to the disappearance of 66-year-old Nancy Collins of Atkins. Her family reported her missing Sunday.
