Waterloo closes Fletcher Avenue floodgates

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- The City of Waterloo has now closed the Fletcher Avenue floodgates because of flooding on Black Hawk Creek and the forecasted flooding on the Cedar River.

The city expects the Cedar River to crest at 18.5 feet at Noon on Monday, March 15, 6.5 feet above flood stage, but 7.5 feet below the crest of 2008.

The city warns that the projected crest is based on current conditions and can change depending on how much rain we get over the next few days.
