BLACK HAWK COUNTY (KWWL)--  Black Hawk County Sheriff's deputies, along with Cedar Falls and Waterloo Police and Iowa State Patrol troopers spent more than an hour Saturday night tracking down four juveniles inmates who escaped from a juvenile detention center.

The detention center is located on West Dunkerton Road just north of Waterloo.

Black Hawk County Sheriff Tony Thompson tells us the inmates assaulted and overpowered a staff member, then obtained keys and exited the area, running from area.  This all started just before 8 p.m. Saturday night.

The three men and one woman were all back in custody by 9:15 p.m. They are:

15 year old Carmeshia Veneable of Waterloo, 16 year old Trae Todd-Ellis of Waterloo, 15 year old Jahtyriits Swington, of Waterloo and 17 year old Colton Thelien from Mason City.

Sheriff Thompson says the four face additional charges. They were taken to the Black Hawk County Jail.
