Part of East Dubuque bluffs crashes through fire station

Posted:

EAST DUBUQUE, IL (KWWL) -- The East Dubuque Fire Station got a view that they didn't quite ask for.

According to our coverage partners at the Dubuque Telegraph Herald, a portion of the bluffs overlooking East Dubuque gave way sometime between 10 p.m. on Wednesday and 10 a.m. on Thursday.

The rock that gave way traveled about 30-feet and crashed through the back of the fire station creating a 10 foot by eight foot hole in the cement wall.

No one was hurt, but a hose dryer, washing machine and clothes dryer were damaged.

They're not sure how much the rock weighed or how much the damage will cost.
