Workplace wellness programs can help people lose weight and reduce their risk for heart problems, according to a study of such a program at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Two-thirds of participants were considered overweight or obese. The program focused on diet and exercise, and lasted for 3 months.

A year later -- all of the participants had lowered blood pressure and cholesterol levels. There was also a modest weight loss.
