Geromey Gilliand Geromey Gilliand

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -- The Dubuque County Attorney's Office says no criminal charges will be filed as a result of a shooting outside of a Dubuque pawnshop in January.

Geromey Gilliand was shot three times in the buttocks the afternoon of January 11, 2010 by Matt Folstad, an employee of the pawnshop.

The shooting was the end to a situation that actually started on January 9, 2010 when Gilliand allegedly assaulted Alisha Vandermillen, the daughter of the pawnshop owner, at his apartment on Owen Court.

The Dubuque County Attorney's Office says numerous threats were made by Gilliand and his brother in the days between the initial assault and the shooting.

According to the report released by the Dubuque County Attorney's Office, Mike Vandermillen, the owner of the pawnshop, did nothing illegal following the shooting and Gilliand doesn't want charges filed against Folstad for the shooting.

Geromey Gilliand still faces charges stemming from the original assault that occurred on January 9, 2010.
