Waterloo seeks public input on HUD action plan

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- Waterloo city leaders are planning to submit an application for millions of dollars in federal funding for community improvements.

The City of Waterloo is composing its Consolidated Plan One-Year Action Plan to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  It includes applications for about $1,455,000 in Federal Community Development Block Grant funds and $683,000 in Federal HOME funds.

The money will be used for a variety of activities, including public services, neighborhood planning, and housing rehabilitation.  The plans do not call for the displacement of persons or businesses from their current location.

A thirty-day public review period begins on March 1, 2010.  Any comments will be considered and potentially incorporated into the final document submitted to HUD in mid-May.  You can review the plan in the Community Development Office.
