Former Iowa volleyball coach Fredrick hired at Luther

DECORAH (KWWL) -- Former Iowa Hawkeye volleyball coach has accepted the head coaching position at Luther college.  Luther AD Joe Thompson made the announcement Monday morning.

Fredrick's college coaching career began at Weber State from 1985-1989, and was named Big Sky Coach of the Year in her final season.  She followed that spending 15 seasons at Washington State where she was Pac-10 Coach of the year in 1995, and followed that with 5 seasons at Iowa.  She resigned at Iowa to become the Assistant Director of the Wartburg-Waverly Sports and Wellness Center.

"I want to thank President Torgerson and Joe Thompson for the honor of leading the Luther volleyball program, stated coach Fredrick. "Luther's combination of a rich athletic tradition, very high academic standards and a beautiful campus was what drew me to the position."
