1915 train crash killed two enginemen

UNION COUNTY (KWWL) -- Two enginemen were killed in a train wreck February 22, 1915 north of Afton Junction.  Both were from Des Moines.  A mail clerk from Waterloo was seriously hurt.

The Chicago Great Western Railroad engine crashed after hitting spreading rails.  No passengers were seriously hurt.  The train was going from Des Moines to Kansas City.
