Science Station: Basics in Rockets

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) - The Science Station has partnered with NASA to provide a Basics of Rocketry in-service workshop on Saturday, April 24th from 8am to 4pm at the Lindale Mall lower level Education Center.

The program is at no cost for Pre-service, current K–12 teachers and those in after school programs that work with students. Educators from the Marshall Space and Flight Center, Huntsville, AL will be presenting the workshop.

Designed for K-12 teachers, Investigating Rockets is a Hands-on and Informal Science Approach that will look into the basics of rocketry and how you can connect your classroom to a science center experience. The workshop will demonstrate ways to integrate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, or STEM, activities in classroom curricula by developing science application knowledge and skills through inquiry and progressive practice.

The Science Station @ Lindale Mall is on the main level across from Holley's and is open daily except Monday's. Admission is $3/person; children under 6 are free with a paying adult.
