Hawkeye Multicultural Visit Day

WATERLOO (KWWL) - Hawkeye Community College is celebrating diversity with a Multicultural Visit Day on Tuesday, March 2, where potential students can learn about Hawkeye and the programs offered. Complete information can be found on the college's web site at http://www.hawkeyecollege.edu/fof/multicultural.

Students can sign up to attend on the website or by calling 319-296-4000 or 800-670-4769. Parents are welcome to attend.

Included will be a special presentation from Daniel Davison who motivates and inspires audiences with an unforgettable message. He shares tragedies and adversities and his life's lessons of the consequences of poor choices. This special presentation will be from 9:55 - 11:00 a.m. in the Hawse Auditorium in Tama Hall and is open to the public.

Davison is a survivor of severe child abuse which led to involvement in the drug environment and organized crime. His life in the fast lane led to an accident resulting in severe frostbite and requiring amputation of a portion of all four limbs. His success in the face of this adversity can be attributed to his achievements as a musician, sailing, horseback riding, and sheer determination. Davison reaches audiences of all ages and provides encouragement and guidance that empowers people to let go of beliefs that limit them. He helps individuals see that with the right choices and attitude, everything is possible. He is a quad-amputee who reaches and moves his audience to understand that choices and attitude determine results. Davison has been featured world-wide via CNN in more than 27 countries and on ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX. National radio programs and newspapers have carried his success story nationwide.
