WAVERLY (KWWL) – Once again, it promises to be a Valentine's Day weekend to remember, and you're invited. The 14th annual ‘Have a Heart for Kids Benefit Ball and Auction' is coming up Saturday, February 13, at Centennial Oaks Golf Club in Waverly. This year's theme is ‘Winter Wonderland.'

This annual a night of entertainment, fun, food and fundraising helps benefit the Lutheran Services in Iowa Bremwood Residential Treatment Center in Waverly. This critical Waverly facility and treatment center serves Iowa's at-risk children, ages 12-18, some of whom have severe behavioral and/or emotional disorders.

The special evening at Centennial Oaks will feature both live and silent auctions, with more than 300 auction items donated this year by businesses and individuals. In addition, a special getaway package to Chestnut Mountain in Galena will be raffled off at 10:50 p.m. Tickets for the raffle are just $ 1.00 and you do not need to be present to win! Raffle tickets are on sale at LSI offices in on the Bremwood campus in Waverly.

Iowa Hall of Fame Rock and Roll Band, Milk & Honey, will once again provide musical entertainment, along with performances by a new addition to the annual ball in Tony Bohnenkamp. KWWL-TV's Ron Steele will serve as emcee.

As always, a highlight of the evening will feature several emotional and inspirational stories from Bremwood children themselves. Residents of the Bremwood Residential Treatment Center will courageously share hopeful and heartwarming personal accounts of their struggles and dreams for better lives, and in some cases, finding new families.

Former Heart Ball Co-Chair, Amy Roling, says, "The Have a Heart for Kids Ball' is a great opportunity to be a part of instilling hope, a sense of belonging and the chance for a brighter future to the youth on the LSI Bremwood campus."
