Cedar Falls to enforce 48-hour parking on Friday

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -- The City of Cedar Falls will start ticketing violators of the 48-hour parking rule starting on Friday, February 12, 2010.

The city ordinance says any vehicle that is parked on a city street in the same location for more than 48 hours is considered a parking violation and may be ticketed and towed. Excess amounts of snow around parked cars can create sight obstructions and is a safety hazard for pedestrians and the traveling public.

So, starting on Friday, any vehicle that is in violation of the 48-hour ordinance will be ticketed.  Then, if they are not moved within 24-hours of being ticketed, they will be towed.

The enforcement of this ordinance is necessary so that the city can clear snow from the streets.
