Three generations in one family with same birthday

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- Sharing birthdays with three people is fairly common, but to share them in one family is very rare.

Nilla Yarrington of Waterloo shared a birthday Tuesday with her daughter Monica Schmitz, of Washburn, and her granddaughter Jackie Forney, of Madison, Wisconsin.

Jackie is Monica's niece.  The chances of three people in one family sharing a birthday - less than one in 133,000.

Nilla's daughter Monica had planned to make it in to Waterloo Tuesday to celebrate, but the weather didn't agree.

"I live south of town here and they haven't plowed our street yet, so I thought and the winds supposed to pick up so we'll just plan it for another day.  We're kind of used to that aren't we mom?" Monica Schmitz asked over the phone.

"Yes that's for sure," Nilla Yarrington answered.

Monica Schmitz says the best part about sharing a birthday with mom is her siblings always remembered her birthday.

The number could become even higher.  Nilla's granddaughter Jackie, who is older than pictured, is pregnant and due anytime.

The chances of three people in one family are low, but the family size could play a factor.

Nilla Yarrington has 12 kids, 32 grandkids, and 33 great grandchildren.  She's expecting three more great grandkids this year.
