Police investigating racist graffiti

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -- The Cedar Falls Police Department, along with other law enforcement agencies, are investigating numerous incidents of racist graffiti.

The latest incidents happened on February 5, 2010 in Cedar Falls and rural Butler County.

In Cedar Falls, the welcome sign on Highway 218 near the Dunkerton Road intersection was spray painted with the racist graffiti.

Other incidents were reported to the Bremer County Sheriff's Office between October 2009 and December 2009 and Butler County in November 2009.

According to police, the graffiti consists of racial slurs and swastikas.

They say all the incidents appear to have similarities and have primarily been committed in rural areas.

Anyone with information should call the Bremer County Sheriff's Office at 319-352-5400, the Butler County Sheriff's Office at 319-267-2410 or the Cedar Falls Police Department at 319-268-5139.
