Cyclones fall to (3) Kansas 84-61

AMES (KWWL)-  It's been a week to forget for the Iowa State Cyclones.

Greg McDermott lost his third leading scorer in Lucca Staiger, who left the program to play professionally in Germany.  The week didn't end much better as third-ranked Kansas came in to Hilton Coliseum and blew out the Cyclones 84-61.

Iowa State jumped out to a 14-13 lead.  Kansas then responded with a 17-4 first half run and took a lead they wouldn't relinquish.

Cole Aldrich led the way for the Jayhawks with a season-high 19 points.

Marquis Gilstrap led the way for the Cyclones with 18.
