Dubuque church packs 80 thousand meals for Haiti

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -- Dozens of volunteers packed food to people in Haiti. Parishioners at St. Anthony's in Dubuque spent the Saturday packing food from Kids Against Hunger. The group raised $19,000 for the food. Five assembly lines packed enough bags for 80 thousand meals. The group says it's just a small way help a country already hurting.

"These people that have been devastated in Haiti had very little to start with and now they've lost that and this it our chance to help," said Bob Peacock.

All of today's meals will be shipped to Ohio headquarters. From their they'll be sent to Haiti, where St. Anthony's has a sister parish.
