Mother pleads guilty to child endangerment

DES MOINES (KWWL)--A Des Moines mother accused of injuring her infant son has pleaded guilty to child endangerment and child neglect charges.

Jherica Richardson negotiated the guilty pleas Thursday. She received two consecutive 10 year prison sentences.

The baby's father, Jonas Neiderbach also faces child endangerment charges. Police say the infant, Ethan, was born with marijuana in his system. He was taken to the hospital last July, several weeks after his birth with broken bones and brain injuries.

Neiderbach has pleaded not guilty to child endangerment-multiple acts. His trial is set for May 4.
